I love reading baking blogs for inspiration in my own kitchen, but also for the visuals. Seeing perfectly-frosted cupcakes and cookies melting onto a baking sheet gives me a warm, cozy feeling.
Sometimes, though, I really want to be eating those cookies instead of looking at them.
For others who’ve lusted over their favorite food bloggers’ sweet treats, this weekend marks the second annual National Food Bloggers Bake Sale. On Saturday, May 14, food bloggers from around the country will be holding bake sales in their states, meaning readers can actually taste the delectables they’ve seen online.
The event is organized by personal chef Gaby Dalkin of WhatsGabyCooking.com, and proceeds will support Share Our Strength, a nonprofit dedicated to ending childhood hunger in America. Last year the event raised over $16,000, and the 2011 goals are even higher.
