Whether you’re hosting a New Year’s Eve blowout next week or just having a few friends over for cocktails this weekend, impress your guests by offering a nonalcoholic beverage that’s just as enticing as the high-proof offerings. Made with colorful tangerine juice, this sparkling drink is festive enough for any occasion. Feel free to substitute the juice of Satsuma mandarins or clementines, if you prefer, and omit the garnish if you like.
Honey Tangerine Fizz
3 cups (24 fl. oz./750 ml) fresh tangerine juice
Juice of 1 lemon
1/4 cup (3 oz./90 g) orange blossom honey
Crushed ice
2 cups (16 fl. oz./500 ml) lemon- or raspberry-flavored sparkling water
Raspberries for garnish (optional)
In a large pitcher, combine the tangerine juice, lemon juice and honey. Stir vigorously until the honey is completely dissolved. Add about 2 cups of ice, then slowly pour in the sparkling water. Stir gently.
Fill individual glasses with more ice and pour in the fizz. Garnish each drink with a raspberry or two and serve immediately. Serves 4 to 6.
