Memorial Day Margaritas with Fresh Juice

After being a little over-indulgent this spring, I decided to tackle a juice cleanse last week. The whole concept of consuming more fresh fruits and veggies sounded like a great idea. The three days flew by, and afterwards I felt lighter and had more energy. Thus, I wanted to keep incorporating these incredibly fresh juices into my daily diet. And what better way than in a cocktail?

 

The best alcoholic concoction to pair with your barbecue this Memorial Day weekend is definitely a margarita. To make it healthier, I added fresh pineapple juice. However, you can add anything from mango to strawberry juice. Set up a margarita bar for your guests and have them pick and choose which fresh juice they want mixed into their own drink. After all, variety is the spice of life. Cheers!

 

Pineapple Margarita

 

Shaken not stirred, just like James Bond.

 

3 oz. tequila

6 oz. fresh lime juice

1 oz. simple syrup

1 1/2 oz. triple sec

5 oz. fresh pineapple juice

2 orange slices

Ice

 

Combine the tequila, lime juice, simple syrup, triple sec and pineapple juice. Fill a shaker with ice and margarita mixture. Shake vigorously and pour into margarita glasses. Garnish with fresh orange slices and serve. Serves 2.
