When it comes to summer desserts, nothing beats a fresh fruit pie. With the abundance of amazing produce this time of year, keeping the recipe simple is the best way to go.
When peaches are ripe, sweet and juicy, you don’t need to do too much for a knock-your-socks-off dessert. When fresh cherries hit the market, I just can’t resist buying a couple of pounds and tossing them with a little kirsch before piling them in a pie dish. And right now, with all the blackberries and blueberries at my local farmers’ market, I’ve been makingĀ galettes (free-form pies), which are fantastic for breakfast with a dollop of yogurt.
Those are some of my favorites, but what are yours? Take our poll below, and let’s see which pie takes the prize.
