I would love to try juicing! I am living well by bypassing the candy bowl at work – it’s not easy, but that processed candy is looking more and more unappealing. My new favorite snack is an apple with natural almond butter.

I’ve been dieting all my life. the one thing that stuck was eating clean. which means looking at everything that goes in my body and if i can’t pronounce one ingredient, i dont eat it. ive been feeling on the top of the world. no more sugar crashes, no more staving all the time, and i feel so much better! ive also been writing about it on my blog. http://www.biancaalexis.com/blog

I love juicing. I’ve been juicing for years. The Juicer at my house takes a beating. We juice gallons and gallons of juice every month. Most people get a juicer, use it for a month then stuff it in their cupboard and let it collect dust. I would love to see what how this Breville performs against my current Hurom slow juicer.

I would love to be one of the winners of a juicer. I have recently been diagnosed with a degenerative eye disease and have been doing my own research on the benefits of juicing to naturally help keep my eyes strong. Ironically, I am an artist and art educator and my biggest fear is losing my vision. I can’t afford an expensive big juicer like the ones I always see on your site and I have been trying to use my blender but I don’t think it’s the same or that I would get the full benefits of a good juicer. If you pick me I would be sure to put it to good use!!

Organic is the name of the game. I snack throughout the day, so my refrigerator is stocked with containers of fruit and vegetables that I pre-package two-three times a week, many of which come from my own organic garden. And of course, exercising five days a week with a mix of cardio, weights, pilates, and yoga! Happy 2013, everyone!

I recently viewed a documentary, “Fat, sick and nearly dead.” This has inspired my husband and I to get involved in juicing for two reason, being able to receive micro nutrients for our overall health and well being and hopefully some weight loss along the way. We’re both 68 yr. old and about 20 pounds overweight. One of our daughters and her husband recently bought one of your juicers and are so happy with it. She needs to loose about 50 pounds and he, about 200. So far about 12 lb weight loss for each of them and it’s been a little over a week. WOO HOO!!!!! They’re young and need to get a grip on their eating habits and your great juicer is going to help them along. Thank you.

I just bought the book Juice to Live…, and then my juicer broke! I have gained so much weight due to depression after losing my job teaching! I am certified, but didn’t get my evaluation results back fast enough from New York State Ed Dept and the NYC DOE terminated me…, with just 1 1/2 months to wait. So the state certified me and the city refused to acknowledge it. Depression…, DEPRESSED!!! So.., the weight I lost, 80lbs…, came back…, and now…, I AM BACK WORKING but I soooo need to juice to lose this weight and get my stamina and strength back! I am graduating in May’2013 and I want to be healthy as I walk down that aisle at the Long Island University and get my Masters Degree! This juicer will reboot my life and let me cleanse and strengthen as I get my degree and turn 50 that following July 25th! This phase of my life I want to be healthy and juicing will put me back on that road to longevity! I also want to teach my students how to choose healthy habits and share my juicing lifestyle!

Two years ago I decided to change my life around. I had been a smoker for over 20 years and loved to eat all kinds of junk food. I was having a hard time breathing and exercising was difficult due to weight. My knees were giving me a hard time and so was my back. So now two years later I have not been sick once, lost 35 lbs and love to exercise. My next step is juicing. I have read up on it and am very interested and excited about this new experience. Thank you for the consideration.

My husband and our 8 year old daughter are part of my “WELLNESS PROGRAM” now to, where we consume mixed vegetable and fruit juices daily and a healthy smoothie for mid day snacks. I have been telling friends and colleagues about the benefits of juicing and encouraging them to at least give it a try. Some people at work have started doing it and have now incorporated juicing in their lifestyle and are feeling fantastic.
If I win this juicer, I will gladly donate it at my daughter’s school. I spoke to the principal about possibly adding fresh juices to the kids menu, but with the budget cut, it is quite a task at hand. I’m on the process of speaking to other mothers at the school so we can donate more juicers and start this Wellness Program movement for all the children.

We have gradually eliminated things from her diet over the years.to help reduce symptoms, and I enjoy cooking healthy meals for her. that are gluten and dairy free. She has begun, as a teen, making her own healthy smoothies for breakfast and watching cooking channels. She always likes to buy the expensive juice drinks from the produce section. After a physical and two lab works conducted last week, my doctor delivered the news that I have high sugar levels (119, up from a 114 last year), and a fatty liver–I’m in my mid 20’s!! For me this was devastating and then, reality set it; I have a 5 year old and a loving husband who need me healthy and around for a while. I began reviewing the recipes and cooking/health tips shared during weekend classes at my local Williams-Sonoma. This past Sunday I went to my local Sprouts (very comparable to Whole Foods) and spend nearly $100 in fresh produce. Raw foods and eating clean are my goals, not only in 2013 but for the rest of my life. It’s a challenge and sacrifice that will reap long lasting rewards and satisfaction. Thank you for the weekend classes, they are very helpful and encouraging–please keep them around!!!

Living well is being aware of as many aspects of your environment as possible. Avoiding junk is a step forward but has an emptiness that needs filling. Fill the empty with health. By having an apple or carrot in place of some junk your not leaving something empty you are filling a small aspect of life with a healthy choice. Every healthy choice, no matter how small, increases our chance of living well.

I juice almost every day. Would love a new juicer as I just, yesterday, burnt out our small cheapo juicer and have another small cheapo from a thrift store as backup I am using now. This is our camper juicer and I would rather not burn it out with daily use. Yes, we even juice when camping as I have an inverter in my 74 VW Bus.

Once you get used to juicing its hard to miss as it holds you over so well. Our standard is carrot with celery, ginger and lemon:

    5 or 6 medium carrots
2 or 3 stalks of celery
about 2 cu in piece of ginger
half a lemon with half the skin left on

Leaving some of the lemon skin gives the juice a nice lemon zestiness.

    Juice often, Live Well

Thank you, Williams-Sonoma for offering your Breville Juicer to those desiring to be well, stay well and live well—way beyond 2013!

My husband is 86 and I am his wife, age 65. We have spent our entire marriage pursuing what will make our lives healthier, physically, socially and spiritually.

We were just watching a TV promo about a healthy juicer and laughed together about this—–we bought a wonderful juicer from a healthfood store on the East Coast one year, then my son-in-law saw it, tried it and remarked how he would like to have one. Well, we snuck it in his van when he left our home for him and my daughter to enjoy! We decided to buy another when we moved to IL, and again, my daughter and SIL’s juicer had run its course and we were more than happy to give them our new one.

So you see, you can’t keep a good Juicer down!!!!! Feels great to share the good things in life!

I am trying to start the new year afresh. I am into roasting my veggies instead of just cooking them. Juicing is not something I have tried before. In our culture, the juices are typically only citrus with some water like lime with some black salt or a certain kind of orange. It’ll be fun to try some of the recipes I have seen at Williams Sonoma store.

I have had a weight problem my entire adult life, tried just about every diet and then stopped them all, discouraged and ready to accept my fate. But along the way, I learned a great deal about healthy eating and now shop pretty much the perimeter of the grocery store. Trying to cut out breads, pasta, and sugar while living on mostly vegetables, fruits, eggs and favorite meats, I still think adding juicing to my lifestyle just might be what I need to get my body to let go of the fat I’ve acquired over 65 years. The opportunity to change the palettes of my young children so that they crave the good things while helping to improve my husbands and my health to create our longevity would be priceless! Thank you!

I was diagnosed the year I was pregnant with my daughter with rheumatoid arthritis. The dr told me I might not be able to pick up my children or run and play with them. Since then, I have steadily been changing the way we eat and live and I am doing o.k.!! Have set backs every once in a while, but can pick up my kids and I enjoy every second of it. I know that eating A LOT of vegetables in key to maintaining my health and juicing would help surely make it a lot easier to do that!! Running around with 2 kids doesn’t leave all that much time to bake, steam and saute 9 (x4!) cups of veggies a day!!! :)

I would love to get this juicer and give it to my beautiful mother, to join me towards a better and healthier way of living. Would be the best gift that I could give her.

I have been living well in 2013 by not eating so many sweets and have stopped drinking carbonated drinks and have kept going without them. I have also cut back on eating at fast food places and have started to prepare home cook meals that are much healthier and give me a more satisfying taste. I have have started working out and making sure that my body is healthy. I am able to pass on my knowledge to friends and family and I can see the difference in them and me by the way I feel and have more energy throughout the week. I can come home and cook a good meal than going out for fast food and just get tired. I have been cooking different recipes and I am about to start a 30 day cleansing along with cooking more recipes that have plenty of vegetables. A juicer would help me keep going with my daily living and healthier lifestyle that is to come. Thank You.

My husband was recently diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease. Prior to his diagnosis, we were eating somewhat healthy meals, however, both of us love sweets. After visiting the nutritionist at the University where he was diagnosed, we felt it was time for true wellness, so we revamped our meal plan in the following way: We now eat fewer meals, but more frequently during the day. On the rare occasion when we prepare a large meal, we do so early in the day, then enjoying a salad at dinnertime. We made our salads more interesting and rather than topping our exotic lettuces with the traditional cucumber, tomato, carrots, etc., we now use fresh sliced strawberries, apples, golden raisins, pecans or almonds and top it off with a fresh raspberry vinaigrette or light cranberry dressing rather than the ranch or bleu cheese dressings of our past.

We often prepare a fresh smoothie for our big meal of the day, using nonfat greek yogurt, banana, berries, apples, nuts, kale and flax seed.

We try to abstain from desserts, substituting with a cold piece of fresh fruit. We live near an asian pear farm (so delicious) and stock up during the season. They also sell chinese dates which we’ve grown to love (very unlike the dates we all know). A great fall dessert is to core an apple, sprinkle a teaspoon of coconut sugar on top (optional), give it a dash of nutmeg or allspice and microwave it until soft. On the other hand, we love to slice a fresh pineapple or melon during the summer months for a refreshing treat.

Often times when we eat out, we come to the conclusion we would have been better off (health-wise and price-wise) if we had stayed home and prepared it ourselves, so we’re working on that one!

    Happy eating!
