2 Strawberry Cocktails for Spring

Gardens are slowly waking up, so why not take advantage of your blooming beds and throw your crops in your cocktails? My pick this month: strawberries. Plump and fragrant, these juicy berries are finally in season.

 

Succulently shiny, they add both color and flavor to any drink. Whether they’re used as a garnish or as the main ingredient, strawberries reflect the vibrant sweetness of spring — and they also pack more vitamin C than any other berry. Something to keep in mind while selecting your berries: smaller varieties pack more punch in terms of flavor than larger ones. Cheers!

 

Berry Kiss

 

Delightfully tropical, this concoction will have you smiling late into the evening.

 

2 strawberries

2 oz. white rum

1 oz. lemon juice

1 oz. simple syrup

Ice

 

In a shaker, muddle one strawberry. Add the remaining ingredients and fill with ice. Shake and strain into a martini glass. Garnish with an additional strawberry and enjoy! Serves 1.

 

Sparkling Strawberry Sunrise

 

This cocktail is delicious when paired with lively conversation among close friends.

 

2 strawberries

1 slice lemon

1 sprig fresh mint

1 oz. agave syrup

2 oz. white tequila

Sparkling water

 

Muddle the strawberries with the lemon slice, 1 mint sprig, and agave syrup in a glass. Add the tequila and ice. Stir. Top each glass with a splash of sparkling water. Serve and sip. Serves 1.
