OK, you’re at home. Hello, home. Still here, still being patient, still #socialdistancing in order to #flattenthecurve. (Good work. You are keeping yourself and others safe in the process.)
Coffee drinkers, at this point we imagine you are about to lose your beans, so to speak. Maybe you’ve subtly upgraded your “I just need two cups to function” to a new, fresh, extremely alert “Two pots is normal daily, guys, right?! Right?!”
Take a minute. These are stressful times, and you may want to change your morning coffee routine rather than triple the volume. Here are 10 ideas to zhoosh up your morning cup of joe during a stressful time. (Other options: Work from home on Zoom, but in a cabana. Or heck, get some stuff to make home look that much awesomer since you’re there all the time now.)
Whipped, or “Dalgona” coffee is officially A Thing. And it’s super-simple: hot water, instant coffee and sugar. Layer it on top of milk if you like, or don’t, but know that it apparently has an enormously pleasing texture. To feel like you’re getting the full “going out” experience, deposit $4-$6 in your “I didn’t go to Starbucks again today” piggy bank.
OK, it’s time. Stop talking to the cat. Take a shower if it’s been more than a few days. And do something nice for yourself. Maybe you need this Aerolatte wand, which makes hot foam for your coffee in 20 seconds. Maybe that’s all you need, in a nice mug, to make this morning special. Treat yourself.
3. Get Good-Quality Beans
What if you took the money you’re saving on going out for coffee and bought a few bags of fair-trade coffee or supported a local roaster? It’s money well-spent, if you have a few extra bucks to spare.
If you must have caffeine but it’s late in the day, Irish Coffee might be just what you need. We actually have a quick mixer so you can do just that, no brewing of coffee required, just add the spirit of your choice. Or follow our fabulous recipe. We just insist that you add whipped cream, if you have it on hand.
Why did you stop using flavored syrups? Can’t recall? Us either. The good ones are so good. Consider this one, which spins together Madagascar Bourbon vanilla beans with agave nectar and sea salt. Use just a touch or as much as you like. It’s equally yummy drizzled over cake and ice cream.
6. Break Out of Your Style Rut
You a French press gal? A pour-over guy? Mix it up. Maybe this is the week you start using regular drip or cold brew. Changing up your coffee-making technique you choose is the most obvious and marvelous way to vary flavor and consistency.
You know what? These are not normal times. Nothing is as it ought to be. You can have dessert for breakfast. Or eat fancy chocolates alongside your morning joe. You can eat the hazelnut-chocolate torte you made the night prior, to make it feel like a Saturday night. You can do whatever you want.
Thanks again for staying home. Keep caffeinated, and carry on.

Awesome, Your article is just awesome and always fill of information. Actually I am a coffee lover that’s why this article attracts me a lot. I prefer coffee made with espresso beans because their taste are mind blowing. You are right we dont need to go starbucks or other coffee shop when we can make it home with full of taste and in less money.
I’ve been eating nothing but Cheetos and drinking nothing but coffee for the past couple of days. It’s time to switch… to Pringles and Mountain Dew.
I’m very much addicted to tea but I’m gonna try this out this morning.
I love the tone & style of this writing! The author kept it light & amusing, while acknowledging the seriousness of staying home in this pandemic, not to mention the possibility that some readers might be under severe budget constraints. That’s tough to do on a web site for a retailer. Good job; please write more.
Yummy 😋 😋 😋, thanks ❤️❤️❤️
