This smoothie couldn’t be simpler: just whirl together five superfoods in a blender with ice cubes and you have a breakfast with loads of protein and fiber, which will supply great energy and nutrition before you head off for the weekend’s adventures.
Banana-Strawberry-Almond Smoothie
1 ripe banana
1 cup (4 oz./125 g) strawberries
1 cup (8 fl. oz./250 ml) cranberry juice
1 cup (8 oz./250 g) nonfat plain yogurt
2 Tbs. whole natural almonds
1∕2 cup (2 oz./60 g) ice cubes
Peel and slice the banana. Hull the strawberries and halve them lengthwise.
In a blender, combine the banana, strawberries, cranberry juice, yogurt, almonds, and ice cubes. Blend until frothy and thoroughly blended.
Divide between 2 tall glasses and serve immediately. Serves 2.
