Christine Quinlan is the Deputy Editor at FOOD & WINE magazine, where she’s always finding new culinary stories to tell. Since joining the publication in 2005, she’s been writing about design, equipment and trends, while also developing ideas for special sections and new editorial platforms. Read on for her top holiday gift picks!
1. Cookbooks: This is such a great selection of books, like SPQR, Tartine, Vegetable Literacy and Baked Elements. Collards & Carbonara, with its homey recipes and sweet family stories, is perfect for my brother.
2. Chemex Glass Coffee Maker: You don’t have to be a coffee geek to appreciate the smart design or how easy it is to use. It makes the most flavorful coffee and it’s the perfect size for the office.
3. Breville Fast Slow Cooker: There are some space-challenged cooks on my gift list who will really appreciate this combination pressure cooker and slow cooker.
4. The Meadow Molokai Red Salt and Jacobsen Salt Co. Sea Salt: These finishing salts are perfect for my friends who are serious cooks and the ones who live on takeout.
5. Le Creuset Heritage Stoneware Rectangular Dish: I’d buy this heirloom-worthy workhorse for my sister. I can imagine her kids fighting over it someday.
