Yep, you read that right: It’s the Friday after Thanksgiving and so, in addition to all of our incredible deals, we’re also celebrating our favorite way to ring in the season: Williams-Sonoma Peppermint Bark. Welcome to Bark Friday!
It’s the 16th year we’ve made our signature Peppermint Bark. This nostalgic sweet is still made the same way it always has been. (After all, it took more than 20 rounds of testing to settle on the perfect recipe… There’s no way we were going to mess with perfection!)
First, semisweet chocolate is infused with natural peppermint oil that’s been triple-distilled to extract the cool, clean flavor of fresh mint. Following time-honored techniques, candy makers pour a layer of the melted dark chocolate onto a confectioner’s table, then add a layer of creamy white chocolate. Our famous bark is finished with a sprinkling of crisp, handmade peppermint candy bits. The whole process takes more than 24 hours per batch and, to make enough for all of our stores, we spend 12 weeks every year making batch after batch of Peppermint Bark.
Very few people know the top-secret recipe for our Peppermint Bark and, though there have been plenty of imitators, there’s only one original. This year we’ve added a few new confections to the peppermint bark family including sweet-and-salty Peppermint Bark Pretzels and highly gift-able Peppermint Bark Lollipops.
Still hungry for more of the sweet stuff? Head on over to our Peppermint Bark Tumblr, where we celebrate all things peppermint all season long, and share your favorite Peppermint Bark moments on Instagram and Twitter with #barkyeah.
