Christmas weekend is upon us! This is the perfect time to gather friends and family for home-cooked meals, sharing the joy of the season. We’ve gathered some special occasion recipes to inspire your menus, from a lively Friday evening to a cozy, comforting Sunday night. Happy holidays!
Eggnog with Nutmeg and Cinnamon Nothing represents the holidays quite like rich, creamy eggnog. This one is topped with sweetened whipped cream and freshly ground spices for a cozy feel. Celebrate the occasion by serving some festive appetizers and desserts as well — we recommend this Peppered Beef Tenderloin Crostini and some simple Ginger Cookies. |
Apple and Sausage Patties Adding grated apple to pork sausage yields tangy, flavorful breakfast patties — easy to make and perfect for a holiday breakfast buffet. Pair them with a delicious strata, homemade Brown-Sugar-Raisin Bread and a mug of Holiday Coffee. |
Herb-Crusted Rack of Lamb with Filled Pasta Sheets Christmas weekend warrants a meal worthy of a special occasion. This Herb-Crusted Rack of Lamb with Filled Pasta Sheets is easy to prepare, yet impressive — after all, Chef Thomas Keller created it. Serve with sweet and savory Gingered Baby Carrots, and finish the meal with decadent Sticky Toffee Pudding. |

I love the eggnog recipe. I take it up a level by sprinkling some absinthe over the top and igniting it. (always keep the bottle closed by an open flame!)
it makes the eggnog like a miniature baked Alaska! Caramelized and delicious! With a whiff of Anise!
I will not order from Williams Sonoma again. Twice in a row I have ordered from them and they have #1 sent part of a towel set, forgetting to notify me that the towels were unavailable and #2 back-ordered a Christmas present without notifying me. I only discovered it after waiting over 1/2 hr on their customer service phone. Now I get to go shopping in the busy stores…should have done that in the first place. Williams & Sonoma, you have really let me down.
