I grew up with women canning all around me but it wasn’t until last year that I had canned anything on my own. Not being a “chunky” strawberry jam kind of girl, that is what I decided to be as my first so I could get the strawberry pieces extra small. I will never forget when my husband came home how he exclaimed, “This tastes like REAL strawberry jam” ha ha ha. I guess he never had the pleasure of experiencing something so wonderful as homemade preserves.

I have been canning for years and have recently begun the switch over to Weck jars and the like. My baby is now a year old and I want to prevent as much BPA from entering her system as possible – home canning is one way to do so!

Wow! This is a very desirable giveaway prize. I want to start canning this fall and so began to build my own Kilner kit by purchasing basic accessories such as snap jars, the beautiful red jam pan and other little items. This prize would greatly help me by providing basic canning essentials I will need to make preserves for myself, my family, my colleagues and local charity events such as bake sales. Hope I succeed with this project.
