Make your Easter celebration one to remember with a standout bottle of wine that makes spring flavors shine. We asked the Williams-Sonoma Wine team for their top wine recommendations, using our new brunch and dinner menus as inspiration. Read on to learn what to pair with strata, seafood and classic ham this Easter.
NV Stephane Coquillette Les Cles a Couilly Champagne
If you’re looking for a special occasion bubbly to serve with Easter brunch, this is it. Champagne is a great match for our Strata Lorraine, but this one also pairs well with classic brunch entrees such as seared salmon. Since the wine is made with Pinot Noir, it’s rich but still has a bright minerality that complements the richness of the salmon.
2011 Greywacke Pinot Noir Marlborough
For a different take on brunch wine, try a lighter bodied red such as this one. The minerality of this Pinot Noir will carry it through the richness of the bread and cheese in the strata. Plus, it’s a top scorer on Wine Spectator lists!
2010 Cave de Ribeauville Larghetto Vendanges Manuelles Alsace
This delicious Riesling from Alsace is a wonderful match for ham, featuring rich, penetrating flavors of stone fruits, tangerine zest and honeycomb.
This delicious white Rhone blend comes from the Lone Star state — that’s right, Texas! With flavors of nectarine, Rainier cherry and a hint of baking spices, it would pair perfectly with the roasted carrots and ham.
2009 Alta Pavina Pago La Pavina
If you love a glass of red with dinner, try this Spanish Tempranillo, with notes of black plum, citrus rind and a dash of cinnamon. Supple and generous on the palate, it’s still juicy enough to take ham to the next level.
