One of the first pieces of French kitchen equipment that Chuck Williams discovered on his travels in the 1950s were the beautiful, jewel-toned cast-iron pots of Le Creuset. Today, both the classic cast-iron and the new stainless-steel cookware are cornerstones of our curated European collection.
The first Le Creuset foundry opened in 1925 in Fresnoy-le-Grand, France, and specialized in cast-iron cookware. In 2013, Le Creuset began producing innovative stainless-steel cookware in Portugal with lids that incorporate the same signature three-ring design as its classic cast-iron pieces. This new stainless-steel collection was awarded the 2014 Red Dot Award for product design. Thoughtful details like laser-etched capacity markings and smooth, precision-pour rims were crafted with home cooks in mind.
