Imagine spending the day gathering market-fresh produce, cooking simple yet delicious meals, pairing them with the perfect wines, and sharing them in a lovely atelier surrounded by new friends. Now imagine that you are doing all of this in Beaune, in the Burgundy region of France.
For Marjorie Taylor and her daughter, Kendall Smith Franchini, this dream is a reality. As the founders of The Cook’s Atelier, they spend their days teaching students how to shop and cook in the French style, as well as how to choose wines to go with their meals. Together, teachers and students visit the local markets and then sit down together at the end of the day to share the meal they’ve all prepared.
Filmmakers Tiger in a Jar shot this video showing a day in the life of The Cook’s Atelier. It’s simply lovely–enjoy!
