There’s no better season to throw a party than summer, when the days are long, the nights are warm and the best foods are all in season. To kick off the entertaining season, we took our beautiful, affordable Open Kitchen collection down to Charleston, South Carolina to celebrate Southern hospitality and timeless style with some of Charleston’s newest residents, interior and set designer Kate Dougherty and her fiance, chef and restaurateur Ben Towill.
The summer lunch they hosted with a group of their cool and creative friends was typical of their new entertaining style. “In New York City, our kitchen was the size of a cupboard, so we designed our Charleston home with entertaining in mind,” says Towill. “It has a big open kitchen and there’s nothing better than having friends over to cook, drink and dance together.”
