This variation on the famous Cosmopolitan uses currant-flavored vodka for a fresh twist. If you prefer drier cocktails, cut back on the sweetened lime juice. Round out your fancy evening with an appetizer of Oysters on the Half Shell — elegant and fuss-free.
|Breakfast Skillet with Green Onion Home Fries
Baked and served in the same skillet, this hearty egg dish is just right for a casual weekend brunch. Crispy home fries are the perfect accompaniment — and Cranberry-Orange Muffins add a little something sweet.
|Roast Pork with Dried Fruit and Catalan-Style Spinach
Wind down from a fun, festive weekend with a savory meal that celebrates the flavors of the season. Pork and dried fruit are natural partners, as this recipe from Spanish chef José Andrés demonstrates. To draw out the Spanish theme, start the meal with a fig salad and serve irresistible Patatas Bravas as a side dish. Feeling indulgent? Finish with a traditional flan dessert.
Tried the cranberry orange muffins this afternoon for my neighborhood book group, and wow! What a hit! My friends cut the muffins into quarters, to make the servings bite-sized, but I think the recipe could be used to make mini muffins, too. I worried about trying mini muffins, because this recipe calls for whole (not chopped) cranberries, and I thought it might be too tart. Not so! Thank you for an excellent recipe for the holidays.
