when my movers never showed up to move me out of my apt my Dad reschedule his meetings with big deal Senators to help me move. My Dad is the only real cook in our family. He truly finds joy in cooking, not only because he loves making meals, but also because he loves the utter satisfaction that the family gets from eating his meals. On September 16th my husband & I will be married 35 yrs. John is a great husband and a wonderful dad. He worked a swing shift for most of Sarah’s childhood. I’m a 7-month old baby, and my father really likes to grill. People say he’s good at it, but given that I just started on mushed fruits and vegetables, I don’t have much of any idea if they’re telling the truth.
My father helps out on the grill at friends’ houses, at community functions, and other places where he can. We don’t yet have a grill at home, but my mother and grandparents are secretly planning to buy him one for his birthday in a few weeks.

I grill 4 to 5 times a week. There is nothing like sitting down to a grilled meal, the taste, the flavor is awsome.
I would say my Husband is the best Daddy ever! he works 40 hours a week then when the weather gets nice he teaches motorcycle saftey on top of it. dont think for a second that means he gives up family time for that. he is always playing with our toddler and helping around the house doing the BarBquing, diaper changing, park playing, and just a great neighbor as well:)

This is for my husband; we raised our 2 children and then, when our daughter (who is in the Army National Guard and a single parent) has to go away on her weekends, two weeks every summer or when she had to go to her tour of in Iraq, He steps in and helps out with our granddaughter. My dad loved grilling and treating us to a BBQ. He worked everyday of the week and sometimes whenever he got a chance to get off from work there he was firing up the grill. My Dad died a couple years ago from Multiple Melomia and one way I keep his memory alive is taking his place on the grill. He is already a winner in my book as in the last year he survived a motorcycle accident in which he lost part of the bone in his leg and much of the use of his left arm. When I retired, my husband bought me a brand new stainless steel grill because he knows how much I love a perfectly grilled medium rare steak. My Dad is the ultimate grill master! After all, you have to be a grill master to serve the plate of grilled chicken that you dropped on the patio, picked up, put back on the grill for five minutes (declaring it free of germs and dirt afterwards because “it all cooked off” during those five minutes), and then serve it to your family and friends for dinner on Father’s Day. To this day, we tell him it was the best chicken ever and ask him every year for “Dad’s Patio Chicken” using his “secret recipe”. Every year he laughs and calls us a few select terms of endearment!

My husband has been grilling as long as I have known him (about 35 yrs). There have been a few duds but over the years he has gotten better and better! I really believe my dad has earned this awesome grilling set. Since our mom died, my dad has been our rock. My mom was a fabulous cook and when she passed my dad stepped into the kitchen and does his best to create great meals. He tries so hard to give us balanced meals, to make sure there are leftovers for lunch the next day and he looks for recipes online to try new things. However, his real food passion is grilling. Some of my best memories are of him grilling at our parties, for weekend cookouts or simply because he found a great recipe. He has been a father figure to my 2 young nieces who lost their dad 4 days before Christmas. This summer they will move into our home where he will create nightly family meals for them, something they’ve never had. His dedication to all of us has gotten each of us through very tough times. Watching him grill and experiment with the different items in this set would bring a lot of smiles.

My husband grills everything, any day, any time! He works 12 hours/day and always does for others. He’s taught our son-in-law (NY native) to grill, too. He’s a purist, although we have a gas grill in our backyard, he uses a charcoal Weber grill with gas starter. He uses wood chips. First me being pregnant, then our son being born with an unexpected heart defect and having to go through two procedures by 5 months old. I would love for my husband to win this so he could grill more often. He doesn’t have a lot of weekends where he can grill, but when he does he enjoys it. He has been working on his technique for a few years and he is only getting better.

My husband Clayton is an amazing father to our 9 young children. (Yes 9!) He works two jobs to provide for us so our children do not have ot go without. His grill he has now, one of the kids somehow broke the igniter switch on last summer so he has to do the long match and jump back and hope it lights so he deserves to win a new grill! My fiancé Deane deserves to win the grand prize because he is an awesome dad / Grandfather. His you Fest son Matthew has come a very long way in the last few years after getting involved with drugs and being arrested. Deane has been there for him every step of the way and beyond! He continues to be there years later as his son gets married and takes on the responsibility of another mans child by becoming a father to him and then he and his wife have a baby of their own. My husband has been cooking for our large, extended “chosen family” nearly every Sunday for the past 17 years and many, many of those dinners are done on our BBQs. These Sunday evening dinners started when our children were in grade school and now includes 4 generations – ranging in age from six months to late 80s. In addition, he frequently grill mid-week year round for just the two of us – rain or snow not withstanding. Paul has both a gas BBQ (that he had attached to our home gas line) and a charcoal smoker (the big green egg). I can promise you these tools would be well used for many more years of laughter and memories around our tables.
Because he is the GRILL KING in our house for me and our 4 daughters!! Has a collection of Grill themed tshirts, of course past Father’s Day & Birthday gifts, so this would just top the cake or steak if you see it that way!! 😉
