Preparation time: 45 minutes

Sugar, for sprinkling
2 large green apples, peeled and thinly sliced
4 eggs
1 1/4 measuring cups* sugar (fill up to the mark of 160, and then to the level of 40)
1 tsp. vanilla sugar
1 1/4 measuring cups* flour (fill up to the mark of 160, and then to the level of 40)
*Use the measuring cup provided in the Philips Slow Cooker Plus
Grease the bottom and sides of the inner pot of your Philips Slow Cooker Plus with butter. Sprinkle with sugar. Spread apple slices on to of the butter and sugar, leaving a little bit of space between slices.
In a stand mixer on high speed, beat eggs until they form a dense white foam. Continue to whisk, and gradually add sugar and vanilla sugar. Reduce mixer to low speed and continue mixing; gradually add in flour in parts.
Pour the egg, sugar and flour dough into the inner pot lined with apple slices, handling dough carefully so as not to deflate any air bubbles. Close the inner pot lid. Tap the “menu” button and select “Bake/Roast.” The display will show “Bake/Roast” and time. Set the cooker to the default time, 45 minutes. Touch the “Temp.” setting and select the baking temperature for 150ºC. Press and hold down the “Start/Cancel” button for 3 seconds.
Once the program has ended, carefully lift the cover of the multicooker and remove the inner bowl. All the cake to rest and cool for 30 minutes.
Before serving, gently invert the inner pot of the multicooker by covering it with a platter, then turning it upside down to allow the cake to fall onto the serving plate. Serves 10.
