Granola is easy to make it home, and you can customize it to your own taste. Combine oats and your favorite fruits and nuts to create special blends, and eat with milk or yogurt for a delicious, satisfying breakfast staple.
Maple-Almond Granola
2 tsp. canola oil plus 1/4 cup
1/2 cut pure grade-B maple syrup
1/4 cup honey
1/4 tsp. salt
4 cups rolled outs
1 3/4 cup almonds, coarsely chopped
1/4 cup dried cranberries or currants
Directions
Preheat oven to 350°. Lightly grease a 12-by-5 inch baking pan with 2 teaspoons oil.
In a large bowl, whisk together 1/4 cup oil, maple syrup, honey and salt. Stir in oats and almonds, mixing them to coat them completely. Spread evenly in prepared pan and bake, stirring every 10 minutes, until mixture is golden brown, 30-35 minutes.
Let cool completely, then stir in cranberries. Store granola in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 weeks.
