Sometimes you need a way to sneak vegetables and spices into something (say a cauliflower pizza crust?) without spending a ton of time roasting, chopping and blending. Enter: Kelly’s genius Be Savory rub. Use this umami-rich blend on baked chicken, on roasted vegetables or in homemade salad dressing. A mix of spinach, kale, garlic, onion, basil and black pepper, it’s an excellent way to add a shot of healthful ingredients even to a cheesy, decadent dish. (It takes particularly kindly to Italian food, says Kelly!)
Get your go-to chili or Mexican dish ready for an infusion of new flavors: Kelly’s spicy seasoning is just the thing to elevate an old favorite. It’s wonderfully suited to the pepitas dip our test kitchen dreamt up pictured above, and contains dehydrated beet, which as Kelly notes is “rich in folate, vitamin C and iron.” It’s also packing tasty organic chile peppers, smoked paprika, garlic, cumin, red pepper, and oregano. This is Kelly’s go-to blend for any taco recipe, but it also sings when used to “rub ribs, cauliflower steaks, or on blackened fish.”
